Cynthia Fendel Board Member Focus
Cynthia Fendel has been collecting and researching hand fans since 1974. She is a founding member of FANA, Fan Association of North America, a not-for-profit educational and charitable organization with members united to promote hand fans as art and historical artifacts. She is also a member of the U.K.'s Fan Circle International, France's Cercle de l'Éventail, The Costume Society of America, The Ephemera Society of America and a member of The Fan Museum in England, where her fans have been on exhibit. Ms. Fendel has lectured in the United States as well as abroad, providing audiences an opportunity to become educated about, as well as entertained with, hand fans. She maintains an educational website, "All About Hand Fans with Cynthia Fendel" with a "Featured Fans" page inviting users to view fans from her personal collection.
